Why Drop 01 is one garment

A first collection is a good place to be ambitious and a terrible place to be broad. Drop 01 is a single jersey in five colourways.

Pearl jersey photographed flat

The tempting version of a launch has a jersey, shorts, socks, a training top, a bag and a cap. It photographs well. It also means six supply chains, six fit problems and six chances to ship something nobody checked properly.

Drop 01 is one garment. Five colourways, XXS to XXL, a fixed number of each.

What that buys

Every size is cut on the same block from the same fabric lot. That sounds like a technicality until you own two shirts from the same brand that do not feel like the same shirt. Colour matches across sizes because the cloth came off one roll. If a fault turns up, it turns up in one product and can be fixed in one place.

A small run we can stand behind beats a catalogue we cannot.

No restock

When a colourway sells out it does not come back. This is not a scarcity tactic dressed up as a principle — it is what a fixed fabric lot means. Reordering would mean a new lot, a new dye batch, and a shirt sold as the same thing that is not quite the same thing. Burgundy joins later as its own run, and it will say so.
